TUFTED HAIRGRASS (Deschampsia cespitosa)
Tufted hairgrass is one of my favourite grasses. It forms dense clumps of stiff, narrow leaves with transparent veins (hold a leaf up to the light to see them). The fine and airy panicles are a gorgeous silver tinged with purple.
