STAR SEDGE (Carex radiata)

This beautiful woodland sedge forms large, perfectly circular clumps. The leaves radiate out from the center of the clump as they get too heavy to support their own weight and gradually fall over. Profuse flower stalks bear fruits in star-like clusters.
