LITTLE GREEN SEDGE (Carex viridula)
A loosely clumped sedge that sports short, spiky-looking seed heads. It often grows in areas that are loosely vegetated due to temporary flooding.
Grows with prairie loosestrife, tufted hairgrass, seaside arrowgrass and various rushes.
