BIG BLUESTEM
Often called turkeyfoot because of the shape and texture of the seed head, this is the signature grass of the tall grass prairie. Big bluestem adds a beautiful reddish hue to the late summer landscape, reaching heights of over 6ft (2m) in the right conditions! The stalks can be bundled and tied together to make insulative mats for sitting on cold or wet ground.
