TALL COTTONGRASS (Eriophorum angustifolium)
Honestly, how can you not love cottongrass? This species sports 2 – 10 white shaving brush-shaped seed heads. It is a dedicated wetland species that grows in bogs, marshes, wet meadows and ditches. Loose colonies develop from long rhizomes.
Grows with flat-topped goldenrod, swamp lousewort, shrubby cinquefoil, wooly sedge, and Sartwell’s sedge.
