WHITE LETTUCE (Prenanthes alba)

Clusters of pink and white flowers dangle from stalks that develop on the top half of the plant.  The leaves vary in shape but they are generally triangular and lobed, and decrease in size up the stem. Similar to dandelions, the seeds have a tuft of hairs that are uniquely cinnamon coloured and aid in dispersal. Like glaucus white lettuce, it’s one of those plants that’s not rare, but not particularly common. It tends to grow among shrubs or in woodlands.
