CANADA ANEMONE (Anemone canadensis)

The large, plain white, 5-sepaled flowers that develop singly above a whorl of three stalkless leaves are surprisingly attractive. The leaf veins create an interesting texture. Seeds develop in “spiky” globular clusters that easily fall apart when ripe. Canada anemone is strongly rhizomatous, forming colonies in moist habitats.
