DOTTED BLAZINGSTAR (Liatris punctata)
One of my favourite dry prairie plants! Plants are clump-forming, producing striking pink flower spikes on leafy stems. Flowers are looser than meadow blazingstar’s and plants are much shorter, up to 2 feet. Dotted blazingstar does well in areas of low competition. Grows with western silvery aster, pasture sage, Missouri goldenrod, little bluestem and June grass.
